Does Organics@Home provide a list of what will be included in the Best Value Box each week?

To ensure our customers have the freshest produce available, we receive a daily delivery from various suppliers. Given this, we do not know what will be included in the Best Value Box until the actual day of each delivery. If you prefer to know exactly what will be in your bin each week, we recommend ordering the custom box each week or placing a standard order. A standing order is where you get the same order delivered each week.

Can I get the same order delivered each week?

Yes, many of our customers set up a standing order with us and get the same order delivered each week.

How do I make changes to my order after I've submitted it?

If you need to add or delete items after you have placed your order, please call our office or email the changes to us. As long as the change is submitted before the custom order deadline, we can accommodate the request. If the change impacts your total bill for the week, we will let you know what your new total will be upon receipt of the change request.

How often do you update your fruit & veggie list?

Our web site gets updated every Thursday for the following week, to reflect what products are in season and what we can get from our suppliers.

How do I cancel my order?

If you wish to cancel a delivery, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance by phone or email.

What is the minimum order for free delivery?

The minimum order for free delivery is $30. If your order is under $30, a nominal $2 delivery fee will be added to your order.

What are your office hours?

Our office hours are Monday to Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. We are closed Fridays and Sundays.

Payment

What if I forget to pay?

In the event that COD payments are not received in full, the balance due will be charged to the card on file the day following delivery. In the event that card charges are unable to be processed at the time payment is due, service may be put on hold until payment is successfully processed or other payment arrangements are made.

Where do I leave my first payment if I'm paying by cash or cheque?

Your first payment can be left in an unobtrusive location such as in your mailbox or under your doormat. Subsequent payments can be left in the empty container.

Are there any additional Fees?

There is a $10 one-time container deposit. This deposit is fully refundable if you discontinue the service. There are no additional taxes, membership fees, hidden charges etc.

Produce & Groceries

What kinds of products can I order?

Each week Organics@Home carries between 50 and 75 organic fruits and vegetables, depending on the time of year. We also have over 400 grocery items, including organic dairy, pasta, bread, nuts & seeds, grains, cleaning products, etc. Anything can be ordered by the case for additional savings.

Are all of your products certified organic?

Yes, 100% certified organic.

Are any of the products genetically modified?

No, we carry only certified organic products. In order for products to be certified organic, they must be free from any genetic modifications.

Does Organics@Home support local farmers?

Yes. When produce is in season in British Columbia we work directly with a network of over 30 certified organic farms. We have selected these farms based on thorough research of over 100 organic farms in British Columbia. This ensures you get the best quality produce available and we work with farmers that share our philosophy and commitment to organic food.

We buy local for a number of reasons:

  1. we want to support local farmers who are bold enough to grow organically instead of using conventional methods,
  2. it is the best alternative for the environment as buying local reduces the amount of energy used to transport goods, and
  3. local produce is as fresh as it gets.

How Does Organics@Home ensure that I only receive the best products?

It all comes down to one thing - being picky. We are very picky about the produce we receive from our suppliers because we understand that you want the best available produce. This means that whenever we receive an order from our suppliers, we examine it as carefully as you would. In addition, we double-check each bin for quality and accuracy after it has been packed.

I'm picky. Is this a problem?

No problem, we're picky too. We take great care and pride in picking the best for you and your family. Each item is handpicked and checked twice for quality and accuracy. Love spinach, hate onions? Just let us know. It's OK to be picky. We'll only send you the food you like.

What if I receive an item that's bruised or poor quality?

If anything escapes our watchful eyes or if you are ever unhappy with any of our products, please let us know. We will replace the item on your next delivery or give you a credit.

Isn't organic food expensive?

Many of our customers tell us that they actually save money when they shop with us. You're buying the best - no waste, no spoiled or unripe fruit hidden at the bottom of your bin. You'll save time and gas. And reducing trips to the store reduces impulse buying and overall spending. It's a fact!

Are your products guaranteed?

Everything is 100% guaranteed, no questions asked.

What if one of my chosen items is out of stock?

If a fruit or vegetable is out of stock, we will replace it with one of your alternate selections. If a grocery item is out of stock, we may replace it with a similar item.

Can I return a product?

Yes, if you receive the wrong product or wish to return anything, please let us know in advance so we can credit your account or give you a replacement.

Delivery

Do I have to order every week?

You can receive a delivery weekly or every two weeks. Or if you wish you can order on an as-needed basis.

Do I have to be home when my delivery arrives?

Most of our customers aren't home to receive their delivery. Just tell us where to leave the bin, such as the front door or back porch. We deliver in a sealed Rubbermaid container, so you don't need to worry about poor weather or bears getting in. On your delivery day simply leave out your empty container and we'll replace it with a fresh bin.

Do you deliver to apartments?

Yes, we do deliver to apartments; however in order to do so, arrangements must be made prior to the delivery for getting into the building. To do this, we recommend one of the following options:

How will the contents of my order remain fresh on hot days?

In the warmer months, any dairy or tofu is kept fresh with ice packs and freezer bags and can be left unattended for up to 8 hours.
