HOW ORGANICS@HOME WORKS

Organics@Home provides the convenience of having the best organic food delivered at a reasonable price. It's simple, convenient, and affordable. Here's how the service works:

Getting Started

Getting started with Organics@Home is simple! Just signup online or call 604-983-6657 to open an account. It only takes a few minutes. Once you are a customer, there is no obligation to continue to use the service and you can cancel anytime.

We deliver to different geographic areas in the Lower Mainland throughout the week. When you signup, simply choose your delivery frequency (weekly or biweekly) and we'll get you started the next day we're in your area.

Delivery

We currently deliver to the North Shore, Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody. Check back often as our delivery routes will be expanding.

Day Delivery Area
Monday North Vancouver
Tuesday Vancouver
Wednesday Burnaby, New Westminster, and Tri-Cities
Thursday North Vancouver, West Vancouver, and Vancouver west1

1 Vancouver west is everything west of Main Street out to UBC not including downtown.

Organics@Home delivers between 10am and 6pm. Due to traffic and the changing delivery routes, we cannot guarantee an exact time of delivery. Your deliveries will most likely arrive within the same 2-hour window each week.

You don't need to be home to receive your delivery. Just tell us where to leave the bin, such as the front door or back porch. We deliver in a sealed Rubbermaid container, so you don't need to worry about poor weather or bears getting in. On your delivery day simply leave out your empty container and we'll replace it with a fresh bin. Simple!

Ordering

Orders can be fully customized or we can bring you a seasonal assortment of fruits and vegetables, which we call our Best Value Box.

Custom Orders

Our custom box allows you to order only the fruits and veggies you love. Each week you can select items from our list of over 60 fruit and veggie "units" and 400 grocery items.

When you place your order on our Fruit and Veggie Box page, you will be asked what size box you would like to purchase. Each box size allows for a certain number of "units." A unit is simply a grouping of fruits and/or vegetables. For example, three Gala Apples is considered one "unit." If you wanted six gala apples one week, you would simply order two units of this item on a given week. In addition, you can add an unlimited number of grocery items for an additional cost.

Box Size and the Number of Units

Type Cost Units
Personal $26 10
Regular $36 15
Large $46 20
Family $56 25

On occasion, we do not receive a certain fruit and vegetable from our suppliers even though we have ordered it. Weather, farming conditions or the time of year affects the availability of organic produce. In these circumstances, we want to ensure you only get the food you like. For this reason, we ask you to choose at least 2 alternative selections each week. You will receive an alternative selection if one of your main selections is not available on a given week.

Best Value Box

The Best Value Box is for those people who wish to receive the best value of seasonal produce and who want the convenience of not having to order. Once you've done this, you can relax and be assured you will get the key ingredients for a healthy diet.

On your delivery day we will fill your box with a balanced assortment of fruit, green leafy vegetables, and root vegetables (unless otherwise specified) and deliver it to your door. The contents of this bin change weekly and are selected in order to provide you with the best value of what's in season. Some customers prefer only to receive vegetables; others prefer only to receive fruits. If we can accommodate your request, we will.

To order the Best Value box, all you need to do is sign up with us and it will automatically arrive every week or biweekly, depending on your preference.

Our customers say that opening the latest box of goodies is just like Christmas!

Ordering Deadline

When you first sign up, you will be told what day of the week we deliver to your geographic area. The deadline for submitting your order depends on the delivery date.

Delivery Day Deadline for Order Submission
Monday Prior Saturday at noon
Tuesday Prior Monday at noon
Wednesday Prior Tuesday at noon
Thursday Prior Wednesday at noon

What if I submit my order past the deadline?

Late submissions can sometimes be accommodated, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive your order, especially if it arrives the same day of delivery. If you forget to order – don't worry; we've got you covered. We'll pack a Best Value box so you'll still get your veggies.

Ordering by Phone or Fax

We can provide you with fax order forms in your bin each week. Just phone or fax in the orders by the ordering deadline for your delivery day. Our fax number is 604-983-6657. If you prefer, you may submit your order by phone by simply leaving your order on our voice mail system anytime.

Order Cancellations

If you wish to cancel a delivery, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance by phone or email.

Minimum Order for Free Delivery

The minimum order for free delivery is $30. If your order is under $30 a nominal $2 delivery fee will be added to your order.

Payment

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, visa, or mastercard. If you prefer paying by credit card, we will take your credit card information when you sign up and process the payment each week after you receive your delivery.

If you wish to pay by cash or cheque, a credit card must be kept on file to accommodate those days when you forget to leave the payment or for those unfortunate circumstances, where the cheque is returned due to insufficient funds. Alternatively, you can pre-pay for your order by cash or cheque. If you wish to prepay by $300 or more, we will add a 5% credit on your account. For example, if you give us a $300 cheque, your overall credit will be $315.

If you're paying by cash or cheque, your first payment can be left in an unobtrusive location such as in your mailbox or under your doormat. Subsequent payments can be left in the empty container.

In the event that COD payments are not received in full, the balance due will be charged to the card on file the day following delivery. If card charges are unable to be processed at the time payment is due, service may be put on hold until payment is successfully processed or other payment arrangements are made.

There is a $10 one-time container deposit. This deposit is fully refundable if you discontinue the service. There are no additional taxes, membership fees, hidden charges etc.
